chubai.io is for adults. This page explains why, and how the two different age checks in play actually work.

Why 18+

Chub is an 18+ platform, and its defining trait is that content is not filtered by Chub itself. What a character can say depends on the model you connect: a hosted or your-own Claude or GPT key applies that provider’s limits, while local and community models run open. Even in tamer use, the community library leans heavily toward mature themes. Because this site’s whole subject is that platform, the age line here tracks the age line on the product it covers. Two gates, not one

• The gate on chubai.io. A self-certification screen shown once to new visitors. You confirm you are 18 or older, and the acknowledgement is stored locally in your browser so it does not reappear on every page. It is a light control suited to an editorial site that writes about an adult product, and it collects nothing, as covered in the privacy policy.
• The gate inside Chub. A heavier control run by Chub’s own systems. Reaching full access to mature content on the platform involves an age-verification step on their side. That is entirely separate from anything this site does, and any record of it lives with Chub, not here.

If you share a device

If you run a household or classroom device and want to keep sites about AI companion platforms out of reach, this domain is a fair candidate for a block. Ordinary parental-control software, DNS-level filtering such as OpenDNS FamilyShield or NextDNS, and browser content restrictions all do the job.
